SEOUL, Korea - Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. ("SSC") today announced that SSC has entered into a Cross License Agreement regarding white LEDs using silicate systemphosphors with Tridonic Atco Optoelectronics GmbH ("TOE") and its patentpartners.

Phosphors are indispensable materials to manufacture white LEDs.Especially, white LEDs incorporating silicate system phosphors are coveredby a wide variety of patents and are significantly different from conventional LEDs using other phosphors.
Under the Cross License Agreement, SSC is in a very strong position to manufacture and sell its own white LEDs using silicate system phosphors aswell as expand and accelerate relevant R&D activities.
Based on this agreement, SSC's white LEDs using silicate system phosphors can be covered by its patents and such license and thus SSC's customers will be able to enjoy using SSC's white LEDs.
