HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Officials at Bright Star Lighting Products have introduced an ultra-bright LED, light emitting diode, penlight, the Ion, to the market. Weighing less than 2 ounces and measuring a mere 6 inches, the Ion offers end users a light small enough to be carried as a backup light but powerful enough to be your primary lighting tool.

"The Ion is the perfect flashlight for a variety of applications (municipal / airlines / fire / construction / utilities / personal use) because of its small size, long life, and overall durability," said Matt Malcolm, Bright Star Vice President. The Ion LED exhibits a piercing beam of 25 lumens; 255 + lux at 3 feet, making it the brightest in the category. Its sleek design is ergonomically constructed with knurled handle that enables a maximum grip and a conveniently located push button switch for easy on and off. All this from a light that can fit in your pocket and retail for less than $30 dollars.

The Ion is cased in durable, corrosion resistant, composite nylon that has a built in magnetic for hands free use and has a knurled grip. It is powered by three AAAA alkaline batteries that provide 20 hours of continuous burn time. Developed specifically for those in the market for an ultra-bright, economical LED, the innovative LED has a run time of at least 10,000 hours.
