Innovative rail-mountable LED tactical lights deliver enhanced performance and reliability

EAGLEVILLE, Pa. - The Streamlight® TLR-1 rail-mountable LED tactical light has received a high recommendation from officers testing the light as part of the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) “Member Tested and Recommended” program.

The performance of both models earned “Excellent” ratings, with the TLR-1 receiving an overall score of 4.8/5.0 points in NTOA testing, while the integrated laser sight-equipped TLR-2 received an overall score of 4.28/5.0 points. The overall scores are a composite of scores submitted by multiple NTOA member testers. Testers used the lights on-duty in their law enforcement positions and evaluated them on a number of criteria relevant to officers, including design, performance, durability and versatility, among others.

Testers of both TLR models praised the bright white beam of the three-watt Luxeon® LED. When combined with Streamlight’s proprietary reflector optics, the new lights offer a useful spread of light, with both a blinding central beam and a bright secondary halo of light. Plus, the durable LED design relegates blown bulbs to the past.

The TLR-1 and TLR-2 are constructed of machined aluminum and mount securely to any Glock or 1913 (Picatinny-style) rail. The innovative rail-mount design allows rapid one-handed deployment and detachment without the user’s hand passing in front of the muzzle, along with a high degree of sight repeatability when remounting.

With up to 2.5 hours of continuous LED runtime, the TLR-1 and TLR-2 offer considerably greater burn times than traditional incandescent tactical lights, and solid-state current regulation keeps illumination levels constant throughout battery life. The TLR-1 is waterproof to 66 feet, while the TLR-2 is dustproof.

Both TLR models are designed to fit existing light-bearing holsters, and are powered by two 3-volt CR123A Lithium cells.
